Every cartoonist has a mountain of drawings for projects that never went anywhere. Here's another one of mine. Tried to pitch this idea on and off for several years. The first time was in 1991. This is a picture from a 1996 presentation. They were sailors, a married couple who lived on an island and would often travel to strange places.

They probably should have been married martial arts instructors, living in a dojo in 17th. century Japan, who fought giant robots between spats and having the neighbors over for sushi.
