FBA - Santa Fe/El Paso Whips Design Timeline!
buckhopper brought up a good point in my Santa Fe Whips jersey design sheet... I had a retro jersey which followed the at-the-time-current FBA timeline, which said that the Santa Fe Whips played with the colors black, navy blue and lavander all the way until 2009, which is when the FBA actually took off as a project, I gained control of the Whips, and that was the time I asked to change the color scheme to red, gold and black.A big oversight that had been made, however, was that there was no way the Whips would have kept those awfully 80's-tastic uniforms and logo all the way until 2009, realistically. There had to be some sort of in-between stage.
So a small bit of history rewriting happened. Now it was determined that the Whips actually came from El Paso, TX before moving to Santa Fe, NM, as the original destination for the Whips was set at El Paso before the FBA was completely set up in the earliest stages (before most of the players even existed!) Also, they made a uniform and logo transition in 1991 to a logo that greatly resembled the current Santa Fe model, but used the old 3 colors +2 (for added visual depth). The jersey also looked a bit like the modern one, but it started off plain, without side panels and pinstripes (as was the way in the early 90's) then added those elements later on, in 1998 (making for a total of 4 jersey transition stages).
The final design stage came in 2004, when the team (owned by Annie Paige, Chakat Leopardess, who inherited the team that year from her mother, the former owner Maxeen Paige) moved a couple hundred miles over to Santa Fe, NM. It was then that it made the most sense for the team to adopt its current color scheme and logo theme, and that is the design package that the team continues to use today. :)
Yay, FBA history lesson! :D

This is everything the FBA is supposed to be.
I'm really delighted to see this, Tiggie. Not only are your designs spectacular, as always, but the history and detail you've put into this is incredible. You haven't just drawn some cool art, but you've put that art into a context that fits and grows the FBA Universe. These aren't just fanciful drawings but images that tell the story of a sports league that has had legendary players, moving franchises, current veterans who at one time had been rookies thrust into the fabric of sport politics-- this is the stuff that takes furry from personal interest sketches to something thoughtful, inspiring, and for any storyteller to envy.
This is what grows the FBA. Great, great job, JT.

I am trying to decide if those pink hats used to be the hottest item on FBA store in the 90's or if they were stuck in a perenial discount table, waiting for any buyer. T. Matt, with your expertise in FBA merchandise, could throw a light on the subject?
Very good jersey history, JT, sir. Now we see that, unlike what is shown in the current uniforms, the present logo is not a huge departure from the team origins: the second one was. Very, very creative.

Hmmm... Okay, first you add the team. Don't forget to edite the Santa Fe Whips' info to mention the year it was moved. At the bottom of the team info page, there IS a map editor. You choose which map you want to edit (it gives you a choice of years), and you have an interface that allows you to set the X and Y coordinates and the length of the team's name box (the height stays the same), and the X and Y coordinates of the dot showing the location of the city.
I know a lot of people don't have the knowlege of code that I do, so that's why I was setting up the admin interfaces. Believe it or not, the map editor IS one of the things that works on that site!
