Patreon Activity – June 2024

June was a particularly brutal month on me; so much so that I had to make the drastic decision to eliminate the $10 & $30 Patreon tiers and their benefits. It filled me with great sadness to do as those Patreon rewards made me come alive to see what people could support being made!
July will see the final Patreon poll winning pictures made and posted. It may be a very long time before I can do these again.
As many of you know, I’ve struggled with all sorts of financial problems for a year now, but what finally broke me was when I got a notice in the mail saying my insurance for my building was going up $3,000 for the year, to $10,000 annually.
That would mean my building rent income would break even with paying the mortgage and insurance and nothing extra going towards the renovation work I need done to make the building profitable again.
It was my final wakeup call; that I needed to shift my focus from Patreon work to commissions.
Now I will admit, some things happened and I did manage to switch my insurance policy so it is only half of what the old one was going to be. But even then, it did not change my financial needs. I’m essentially looking at $100,000 in debt to payoff and much of my financial woes are from that. I need to get working on that seriously.
Even after the insurance thing was fixed, money problems kept coming up. My window A/C failed and needed to be replaced for $500. We had some bad plumbing problems that needed fixing for about $600.
Then my car repair I mentioned last month for $3,500 was in progress but I was notified that as they were working on it, they found severe damage underneath the paint they were stripping off to redo. This is expected to cost me an extra $1,000 or more on top of that.
With me switching from Patreon to commissions, a lot of these financial messes like above will become more nuisances than crises.
Up to this point, the current wait time on commissions with me is seven months. After 2-3 months from now, I expected that wait time to drop to three weeks, assuming my current commission load. People will no longer have to wait forever and can have more options in what they want to get from me!
I got to the point where I was saying no to any new commission inquiries. I will be a little more open in the future, but still be picky on the content I work with. Work among my four jobs is most of my life with very little time for play, so I need to make the art work I do be at least part of the enjoyment I have.
3D modeling study is going well. I am nearly halfway through the 2nd class, going much faster than the 1st.
Someone however suggested that I should really see about going beyond the classes and modeling my own things for practice. Stuff I won’t be terribly attached to if I do poorly.
Krystenov the Zangoose has come to the top of the potential list to play around with. Not only is she herself fairly simple, but she also has many assets to work with in terms of her clothes and weapons. You may be seeing more of the Russian commando goddess in the future~ =w=
So there is my life update in the most notable areas. I really appreciate you reading! It’s a very authentic look at who I am and what I do and think. Thank you so much everyone for your support! I’ll keep doing my part to make the world a better place, one good vibe at a time. ^.^
