First five panels started on a lazy day at work.
The rest done procrastinating for finals crap. XP
Sorta. You can see a bunch flubby places. It's been a while since I used a nice ballpoint, though. XD
Largely inspired by this: http://my.deviantart.com/messages/#/d3cpuuj and conversations I've had with the author.

Thanks so much. :)
It would be pretty scary. XD I think it would take Hiccup a while to stop freaking out.
Ha, one of the concepts Goldfox and I always snerked at in particular was the transition from external genitalia to internal. I mean, it's not really a focus of mine, but I'd imagine that'd be one of the more shocking things about it. XD
Aside from the sudden ability to fly and carry your lunch for later in your crop... :)

I suppose he could be, yeah. XD
Of course, this is a bit o' hypothetical silliness. XD I guess, if the force transforming him can grow him wings and fins, why can't it regrow a limb?
I was largely inspired by a story where he regrew a leg as a part of the process. Sometimes I do another version, that's more a fusion with Toothless, where he still has a missing fin...

I was looking at a 'dragon tutorial' where the artist compares a human leg, a horses leg, and a dragon's leg (Based largely on the Mystic Emerald Dragon puzzle from Modo-Bitz it seems. Design is largely the same except she exchanged the "bird/dinosaur" feet for a different style) with bone structure color coded per specific bone (Femur, talus, meta-whatchamacallit...) beneath the 'skin'. I would look at it and think to myself "Gawsh how painful that would be to have each individual bone reshape itself to fit the dragon's, and to have those spiky bones pierce through your skin to match the dragon's..."
The two-second shapeshifting I see in a lot of games really gives a lot of people the impression shapeshifting is a pleasant and fun business! Of course that all depends on the author, but I like to view it as an unpleasant business.
Regrowing a limb (Psuedo-magically) would be very easy, the process would just have to transfer the require calcium and such from other parts of the body to recreate the leg. Of course this would in turn thin out and weaken the rest of the body slightly (Transfer of mass and all that), unless it was 'gifted' from an outside source during the transmutation process.
Also: Eggs. There I said it.
Now brings to mind the original thing I thought when I saw this (Okay the first thing when I zoomed in on it. My mind was thinking enitrely different material when I saw the title) and that is: "What is Toothless going to think about a new Night Fury in the area, and where is Hiccup? Who is this newcomer anyway? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH MY HICCUP!?"
Which *may* bring to surface Toothless somehow brought this upon him, indirectly or otherwise.
Eggs. Haha! I said it again >_>

Ugh, that stuff's not nearly as interesting. XD I kinda dislike the whole humanoid Toothless thing. XD
Wheras Hiccup as a dragon can explore some parts of his psyche that were dormant in his human form.
Funnily enough, though, this is one of the ways I have justified Astrid vore, though. XD
I don't think Hiccup would make much of a predator, though, unless it was to protect or something. He strikes me as pretty squeamish, as Vikings go. XD

As I always say! SHUT UP, IT'S MAGIC! XD
In the books, Hiccup didn't lose a limb, so that whole concept is relatively new to me, anyway, I guess. XD In any case, I guess becoming a dragon is in and of itself stressful enough. If he were a three-legged dragon, he'd probably have a pretty hard time learning to adjust to a dragon's gait. Though I suppose he'd be better balanced overall...
I guess he'd have to be able to magically add mass, since there's already a lot going into the ears, wings and tail that he never had before, not to mention thickening of the chest, head, neck and limbs...
...Eggs.
Well, this is sort of based on a story my friend wrote. I'm not sure Toothless knows what happened, but he did cause it- this malady was caused when Hiccup accidentally took a sip of dragon blood, hence the title. Yes, it's super silly. But logic is always limited, I guess. My own idea wasn't particularly great, either.

*grins sheepishly* I've always liked a mix of logic and magic, like Artemis Fowl and (Depending on how you view it, Fullmetal Alchemist). They all have their ups and downs and sticking solely to a single genre/way-of-thinking tends to stagnate the mind and hinders unique plot development. Or so it seems.
Ugh! The first hardest thing to adjust to when becoming a Western style dragon IMO would immediately be learning to walk on four legs considering the shape of your spine has changed (Simply falling splat on all fours as a human would look radically different than a dragon in the same pose), and usually the next large learning curve is flying or in some cases breathing/spitting fire. Next is that those nifty opposable thumbs aren't there anymore. Of course that can often take #2, but rarely is an immediate factor in ones first hours as a newly transformed draggie. And the tail. Few humanoids can understand the necessity of the tail in their first days.
"How amai supposed to eat this without a fork!?" ~Hiccup; referring to a large fish slightly smaller than his new dragon head
"Just swallow it!" ~Toothless
"I don't feel entirely comfortable with that answer. What if I choke!?" ~Hiccup
"Have you ever seen me choke on a fish?" ~Toothless
"No but you've been doing it for years." ~Hiccup
"And I've managed to down you without choking. ... Much." ~Toothless
"Let's not bring that up again." ~hiccup
*Stands shakily onto his feet then collapses*

Oh, totally. It'd be uber weird.
See, I have another version of this sort of thing where Hiccup becomes more like, trapped in Toothless' body, with Toothless still in it, and they share consciousnesses. So Toothless helps a lot with the coordination of limbs and such. I'd imagine Hiccup would ignore the stuff he didn't have before (save the tail)- perhaps it would even take some going for his brain to signal to the extra appendages. Though I think breathing fire would be easy- way too easy. Possibly painful, too. XD
Funnily enough, that little scene reminds me IMMENSELY of a very similar scene I wrote for this mutual consciousness scenario, where Toothless overrides and kills a deer, and then expects Hiccup to eat it, and they have a bit of a mental argument.
""How does a dragon go about eating a deer, anyway?
Bite it.
Well, I figured that…
An entire deer, as you might imagine, is sort of… awkward. Hair. Bones. Hooves. I wasn’t sure how to get the meat off of it. I didn’t have my knife- just teeth.
Just bite it.
I slid out my teeth and held them very, very gently around the deer’s neck. I paused.
Just bite down.
I couldn’t get myself to do it. I could feel how soft and pliable the flesh was under the tips of my teeth, but I couldn’t bite down. It just didn’t seem… right.
You killed it with your teeth, but you can’t eat it…
I drew away, slurping uncomfortably.
I didn’t kill it. You killed it.
I’m only human.
With good teeth. Bite it. You’re hungry. "" LOL CRAPPY FORMATTING. Italics being Toothless, and the rest being Hiccup, both in dialogue and in narration. XD
Hunger is an entirely different ballgame when you're a dragon, I'd imagine.

Well, it's not precisely a comic version, given I didn't exactly have the story on hand to reference. It's actually out of sequence compared to that story. XD But it is partly inspired by, and of course we've had several conversations about this sort of thing as well. XD
Hmmm... XD
Thanks. I can't imagine that would be a very comfortable experience. XD

When I saw the title I'm totally reminded of this show. ^^; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZquaoUMfIc
"I'm Toothless Soldier now."
"I'm Toothless Soldier now."
Yeah, it definitely seems technically interesting to draw. I don't really have an interest in the fetish, but the concepts are definitely fun to think about- thinking through how one creature changes into another...
Thanks! It was kind of done on the fly. In fact, I had to digitally rearrange the last panels, because originally his final reaction headshot was going to be after the pan over his new body. I figured it would look better if the head was in front of the shoulders. XD
He's definitely too big for one panel now. :)

*shrugs* I don't think TF as a 'fetish' necessarily. =P It certainly -can- be, but I've seen a lot of platonic interest in it as well (after all, it's fun to fantasize about suddenly not being human anymore).
Heheh, so you actually had trouble with parts of this? Well, nice 'save'! ^.^ I couldn't even tell you had to edit things around.

Yeah, I can definitely see the platonic appeal, especially within the furry fandom. Technically, it's definitely fun to draw. I think I'll do a couple more, playing around- and I'll definitely be open to some stuff when I open commissions. :) Tis fun.
Yeah, computers can save your life. XD I generally don't edit my pen sketches whatsoever, but I figured it was due here. XD

*chuckles* Maybe I'll buy a commish from you then. If I can find some money, anyways. xD See, TF is actually my very first 'furry' interest, and it's what got me into the fandom... It'd be kinda cool to get a pic of my Charmeleon-self TF'ing into some other radically-different creature.
XD Vore's still my favorite, and there's nothing I could do to change that. Just the way I'm hardwired. XD
I don't have a thing for TF like I do for vore- I just thought this concept in particular was rather interesting. Imagine all the stuff he can eat now! XD (Just kidding- Hiccup doesn't really strike me as preddish whatsoever, even like this- but the psychology at work here is really fun to think about. XD)
I'm not really sure what your point is, here- we're on FurAffinity; we're all intrinsically weird in our own ways. :) But I'll never deny you your right to your opinion- that would be just juvenile and silly.
In any case, it's far more stimulating to me than all the "lol toothless"s I get. XD

You know, you reminded me about one of the things I liked about TF. =P That bit about 'imagine all the stuff he can eat now!'... The thing about a human turning into a predatorial creature that I always liked (probably because it's a sort of vorish subject) was that the previously-human character had to adjust to his new body's feeding patterns...usually quite awkwardly at that.
I'm talking about not only having to eat new things (such as raw meat/fish, for instance), but also having to accept their new predatorial instincts(well, for carnivores anyways), such as hunting/stalking a meal such as a deer or bunny or whatnot, and pouncing and taking down said meal...probably a bit messily as well. It's all very normal behavior for wild carnivores, but the human side of a TF'd individual would be having a ton of trouble adjusting to such a behavior pattern. But they'd have to, of course. After all...if you don't hunt, you don't eat.
But, uhm, yeah. xP That was one of those things I always found fascinating about transformation.

Oh, seriously! That's one of the things I've found most fascinating about working with this particular transformation- poor Hiccup, who can barely swallow a bite of raw fish, having to learn to hunt and such- and control weird hungers and urges. It's fun- he's so tiny and weak before, so when he gets all this power dumped on him, he has no idea what to do with it. I've always enjoyed thrusting characters into bizarre situations to see how they behave (one of the reasons I enjoy vore), so this concept is really compelling to me.
It's fun stuff. Especially since poor Hiccup here has grown himself an extra stomach. XD

....nighthiccup? heh... sounds like a bizarre bodily mishap old folks get or something. Well, at least he has that intimidation factor he wanted.
I think my favorite clip here is actually the second to last frame. I suspected nightfuries could open their mouths stupidly large like that, but its still a shock to see for the first time.
I think I'll tuck this away in my favorites, because indeed, a good nightfury transformation is a rare beast indeed. I'll need to remember to look through the rest of your work later, if this pen scribble is any indication of the rest.

*Grins* no worries on the delay. everyone has their schedules, and heck, sometimes the site glitches and doesn't notify when a comment was left. Though I agree with you that I hate to "ignore" commenters (commentators?) , I don't *expect* responses;)
Oh, and I can sympathize with having ideas you never get around to. I have a little Donkey Kong Notebook set aside just for those, especially since I don't tend to think of the really fun stuff unless I'm close to sleeping, in the shower, or any other time aside sitting at my sketchbook ;) ... now I just need to show a little discipline and run and grab the notebook as soon as I can, and actually draw more often.

It was a good meaty comment! I felt bad about leaving it. :)
I should write more of mine down. Mostly they rampage around in my head wondering why I haven't done them yet.
I should draw more too. Hahaha. Or at least be constructive in SOME facet of my many, many hobbies.
