Commission for Kai. She hired Seel and me to draw her new furry character in two pictures, and this is the first one =3
...and, to let you know, my first try ever about coloring a shark XD Lol, I hope I didn't mess things too much!
If you go to Kai's page, and take a look at her photographs, you will realize how she somehow looks like her character... at least, the face expression! ^^ (no offence, of course, but the eyes are so similar....) 83

it is of my opinion that the fandom could do with a few more sharks ;3 Ive a few shark character of my own. Thresher sharks (or fox sharks) seem rather popular among tha fandom, and have been my favourite since years before I came across an anthro anything with the label "furry"
heh I have a fox shark character, and I recently met someone whose character is a fox shark, and Syrinoth has a female fox shark character as well. not all of the shark characters out there are fox sharks. but they seem to be more common than other sharks.
but yeah, most furries, myself included are mammals, shark characters are rather refreshing.

Let's see...
1/ Still rare subject. I love different species to be displayed
2/ Difficulty of the subject. Sharks being fishes, making them anthro is a real challenge (I know : I tried, I failed)
3/ Making a shark cute is another challenge. You won.
4/ Your lineart is superb
5/ so is your colouring, I'd like to be able to do that. Plus, you succeeded in rendering the different matters.
6/ the pose is very dynamic
7/ the proportions are just perfect. Not only that, but you did not draw a top model, or the contrary : it adds some life to the pic as we feel it's an anonymous character taken randomly, not an "exception freak" or just a simple fantasie
8/ The idea you had to adapt the jeans to the anatomy (eg the tail here) is just WONDERFUL. Simple, but I never saw that before. The simplier it is, the best it is.
9/ Even the background is excellent. It reminds of water, yet it's not a simple à-plat of one colour, so it looks like there is something behind, yet this something does not distract from the main subject.
Heh. When I say such thing, it's not for nothing ;D
Now what did I win ? ^^ LOL
Bravo again
