EMERGENCY VET COMMISSIONS!

Welcome to an ⚠️EMERGENCY COMMISSION⚠️ opening. I was hoping since Bear's fundraiser from '22 for his eye ulcer was an overwhelming success (on Twitter), that you guys could help my baby Cricket the same way you helped his older brother ;-; The short of it: my fox has cancer and I need help.
- Due to the nature of this opening, I can't do deadlines. Wait times are indeterminate and possibly long if I receive a high volume. Please understand this before buying
- Render will be sketchy like below. May be cleaner if I have extra time. I can make more time for large tips
- No or simple backgrounds only for this opening please. I'm trying to get through them as quick as I can
- TOS: https://furthings.art/TOS.html
- Public queue: https://trello.com/b/GwqS2tYQ/reds-queue
- I can provide updates at any time. If the wait proves too long for you later, I can offer refunds as long as I haven't started on your piece
- I can provide medical docs if proof is needed
I was recently reunited with my pet fox Cricket when I noticed an odd lump below his right eye. Over a couple of days it swelled to the size of a gumball, so we took him to the vet. Initially they believed it was a tooth abcess, but when he came in for the tooth extraction, x-rays showed it to be soft tissue and the "problem tooth" actually wasn't a problem at all. So a biopsy (that cost even more than the quoted tooth removal surgery) was done instead to figure out what it is: a "sarcoma with giant cells". Because of my lack of medical knowledge I'm still unsure if that's cancerous or not, but mentions of raditation and chemotherapy were talked about as possible treatments until the tumor(s) is/are small enough to remove surgically, assuming we can even find a specialist who is willing to see him considering his species. We're still looking for a vet who can do more tests to get more specific knowledge like stage of metastasis (if at all) and treatment plans. Nobody local will take him and as of writing this, we are still waiting to hear back from the University of Florida as they seem to be our last hope for getting help within the state. [Update: UF will see him! Info below]
INITIAL VISIT - $286.50
Paid for office call, climdamycin, and meloxicam for Cricket. Our cat Moody also got a checkup, adding another office call, vitamin B12, vitamin B complex, and famotidine.
1ST FOLLOWUP - $521.91
Paid for dental, meloxicam, histopathology, radiographs, etc.
EMERGENCY VET - $19.26
We weren't given a cone after his biopsy, so we had to run to an emergency vet to grab one to keep him from bleeding everywhere after messing with the sutures that night.
UF FIRST VISIT - Quoted to be ~$1-1.5k
!!! Update: UF will see him! He has an appointment on 6/28 for CT scan, then a treatment plan can be developed based on that.
FUTURE TREATMENT - Quoted to be ~$7k-10k
This is projected to be a very long, tiring, and expensive journey for Cricket and I. Since we're still in the early stages, this number can change greatly, but Cricket's vet made sure to let me know how much to expect in the future so I can start budgeting accordingly now.
None of this includes the costs we incurred while moving cross-country recently, our special needs cat's vet visits and medications, groceries, care for our other two animals, etc.

YES. I can accept them on PayPal, Ko-Fi or Etsy (my "Tip Jar" listing) which accepts most other payment methods. Please specify that it's a tip or donation somewhere so I know what the money's for/where it came from. This means THE WORLD to us. THANK YOU.
