Training is everything
“Training is everything!”
This is what DJ DARKFOX told REPTILE CYNRIK all the time… but you need more than pure muscles to be strong and handsome. After all, REPTILE is doing a little bit more workout these days. But to reach the dimensions of his friend, he would still have a long way to go…

… because he was a good friend to me when I needed someone!
Thanks for the support, buddy! *hugs*
This was not only an anatomy-study... I also wanted to explore the difference between "athletic muscles" and "buff muscles" - at least my understanding of this subject!

Hehehehe... hey, gefällt's dir? ^__^

And I'm still think you both need a good badass handshake

I admit that I personally think REPTILE's body to me "perfect"!!! ^__^ He's hawt.
But DJ looks that way, so... I had to do my best to catch HIS bodybuild, as well.
And I hope for once that I got it really BUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Er... behind that black bar is NOTHING to see! XD
Naughty lizard, you are!!!

Excellent comparison. Just adore the display here! |D
Sure the difference is clear, but too much bulk can hinder their agility and physical endurance when it comes to a warrior's status. That's why I find Reptile very attractive, besides the fact he's a scaly too. >D
I hope they start flexing their muscles soon. |D

^__^ Yay for scalies, hehehe. Well, my watchers here are mostly scalies, are they not?? After all, I'm not such a "furry artist". ;) I mean... drawing "fur" as it is.
But hey, I have to explore LOTS of areas and sections to call myself a more or less "good artist"!!!
And they're flexing the muscles all the time..... ^^

I think, YOU can realy benefit from this project, as well: because you mostly think that drawing all the muscles would count for the term "Buff"! No, I disagree here. Just drawing all the muscles (or drawing all the lines, of course) doesn't qualify for "Buff". It's mostly about "overdrawing" the proportions BUT keeping the correct anatomy!!!!! Pumping it up, indeed!
In a realistic setting, I believe Reptile, despite his more compact musculature, would easily defeat Darkfox. Reptile is athletic simply because he is a warrior and keeps fit by having an active lifestyle, and is probably surprisingly flexible. The tendons, bones and sinew are probably far stronger than Darkfox's because of Reptile's rugged lifestyle. Darkfox, judging from this pic alone, got that way because he lifted weights, blew a ton of money at GNC and maybe took some 'nad-shriveling steroids.
. . . of course, I'm not being really serious here xD

Hehehe, well Reptile IS very agile and quick... but DJ can push up 900 kg and more.......!!!!
But yes, REPTILE is a WARRIOR!!!! And more skilled, I think. And... at least he can RUN faster..... XD
And to protect DJ: he never took steroids, hehe. This is really real... everything about training. ^^

Reptile can grow big faster than a mammal. You have better regenerative genes built-in, and a more efficient metabolism that can optimize the channeling of protein in the diet to reinforcing muscle fibers. You've just not had the kind of strenuous cycle of battle-feast situations I've had, and I wasn't even trying to get bigger than you.
I'm sure you're content with your size, as it suits the challenges you face and might become a burden to maintain if you grew more. But think of it: Has becoming the size you are now really required that much more sustenance? That's the secret - we're good at conserving energy, even estivating when necessary. Mammals don't even know the meaning of the word (most of them).
Carry on, my studly lizard bro. You're a fine example of the brilliant, buff beauty that is scaliness. And yes, you drew this expertly and fairly, accurately and excitingly. Bully for you. Hope it's tasty, too.

Well, as a matter of "fictious fact": my Reptilians ARE mammals!!!! ^^
Therefor they do have to train, keep themselves warm against the cold, eat and drink and love as mammals do.
For example:
There is that trader, Graag Valcor... he's got quite the tummy, 'cause he likes to eat. And there're also Reptilians, who are slim... or even slimmer. ^^"
The same goes for muscles.
You're still right about one fact: my Reptilians can become very strong easily. They don't need that much training, it's in the genes alright. But still, you're not born this way!!! You HAVE to train at least a bit. ^___^
In any way, there are Reptilians for "every situation":
+ huge, bulldozer-like warriors (for raids and great battles)
+ small, slim and fast ones (espionage, thieves...)
+ athletic ones, like REPTILE (for battles that require dexterity and tactics)
You see... there's lot to see in a Reptilian tribe! ^^ OMG, I really do have to draw these different types sometime, don't ya agree????
Thanks for the comment, buddy! *scaly hugs*

We've seen you fight against an opponent who seems taller, thicker built than you. Was that a bulldozer…? Or might there still be someone even bigger yet? (Tongue lolls in anticipation!)
Such a monstrous lizard might need a sly, slender thief to help scout and work past traps and assist with locks where brute force is no help, so this partnership of massive and slender might be a great size differential study and friendship pairing (and could be male/female as well)…
And I don't mind seeing more lizards with good size guts.
Thanks for sharing all the fine talent… everything you've done has been masterful & wonderful. Cheers.
