Just felt like drawing the Mayonaisse clan. They are an old and well-established clan of the Kentucky midlands or something. These are just a few of them. God, I love drawing grotesque rednecks! I hope I get a chance to have these guys appear in the comic some more.

Where to start!
He's ex military of course, rather... abusive man. He's about, oh, twenty friggin feet tall (actually nearly seven). And boy has he got a mouth on him! He doesn't know very much about fancy words but he sure has a grasp on the short ones. XD
He's actually my uncle's father, which makes him my... something uncle. This man has done every mountain-man, right-wing, hick hillbilly thing you can imagine. Gone through several wives to.
It's hard to understand anything he says beyond cursing because he has a THICK accent. Think hillbilly but with a more Canadian/interior-northeast twang to it. Mushes a lot of syllables together.
I once had an entire conversation with him where I nodded politely because the only words I could pick out were, "tits, fuckin', shit, asshole, huntin' and truck." Not kidding. XD

You'll have to ask
skoon; she's his character. I kind of stole her and forgot to credit him X/

Kaiiin-tuck?
My first guess was Lousiana, because of the "French" family name, but there are French connections all up and down the Mississippi and along its tributaries. The US stole the interior of America almost as much from the French as frm the Indians, leaving behind a trail of French names -- Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans among them.

I know that real southerners generally aren't anything like this, but I am a huge fan of hicksploitation horror. I find this sort of grotesque rural pastiche endlessly fascinating. To be totally honest, my depictions of hillbillies are really based more on the rural folks that you find out here in California (except for the gingham dress, really). So in answer to your question, uhhhh, maybe? I dunno, never actually been to the south, though the southerners I've met have generally been decent folks.
And Pearl's from Pennsylvania. To be honest I see more people like this outside of the south (in relation to what he said about California). All the hicks I'm related to are New Yorkers and Vermonters!
After living in the south for the last few years I'd have to say that people are pretty decent, perhaps too religious at times, but decent. Not without the assholes though. South-east Louisiana is really fake with it's "friendly" nature, sadly. I hate living here, would much rather be in Tennessee. The rest of Louisiana is just fine though.
I think the only place where it gets a bit stereotypical is eastern Kentucky, but that's just a hop away from the north. And MAN is Ohio redneck. XD
