Back in the day, he had a six-pack, but now I think it's become a sake gut...
For months I've had an idea bouncing around in my mind for the MUSH of a Samurott based off of Cyan from Final Fantasy 6 (I drew a simple version of him here), who works in a Dojo outside of Ultra City. He would help teach characters moves, and for moves that he wouldn't be able to learn or help with, he could enlist help from NPCs of various types all based off of different FF6 characters (making sure each type is represented at least once, so that pretty much any move could be taught). It would ultimately just be a way to foster RP, while simultaneously letting me tap into my love for my favorite FF game.
I'm keeping this guy on the back burner, I don't know if I'll ever roll him -- maybe if the MUSH picks up some more players. If I do, I'm thinking of the name Kayan...
Also yes, I had Ronso on the mind when I was working on it too, how could you tell?

It's funny, I actually... okay, so this guy was actually first thought of as owning a dojo. In the RP game I play, characters can learn new moves, but it usually takes about a month and requires some training scenes. I had the idea of this guy owning a dojo where people learn their moves, and while he would be the head of it, he would have a whole crew of others, having at least one person of each type nearby, with personalities based loosely on FF6 characters.
The game isn't quite busy enough to justify it yet, so I'm not sure if this idea will ever come to fruition, but just brainstorming I did come up with this group, which would have all 18 types represented, all Pokemorphs (anthro):
Terra - Lilligant
Locke - Boltund
Edgar - Excadrill
Sabin - Incineroar
Cyan - Samurott (the above guy!)
Gau -- Purrserker
Strago - Stoutland
Relm - Smeagle
Shadow - Seviper
Umaro - Hisuian Avalugg
Mog - Stuffel
Celes - Frosmoth
Gogo - Mimikyu
Setzer - Altana
Leo -- Gallade
I tried to make them true to the characters, of course (and I thought Stoutland for Strago and Smeagle for Relm was particularly inspired), but I couldn't quite find a way to make Sabin and Edgar related species and still get all 18 types represented. This was still fun though.
