Andrei and Lyuba followed the back of the column of infantry, a little slacking but that is what is expected when you have to walk to battle instead of riding in style in trucks. Andrei taking in Lyuba’s long conversations catches something he nearly missed.
“What!” Andrei said looking back at Lyuba genuinely shocked. “You heard what I said," Lyuba spoke. Andrei, taking in seconds of silence, turned his head, “Yeah but that’s not what is normally said to boost confidence before going into battle.” The two would continue down the gravel road. “I thought you would be more relieved.” Lyuba glanced at HER fellow private. Andrei raised his eyebrow, “There’s a reason why you aren't a political officer,” He commented. Lyuba eyed him as they continued walking, “As a medical professional and from my intuition being YOUR unofficial girlfriend.” Suddenly Andrei felt a tug as he looked down to see she had her arm wedged under his, “I will tell you again.” They now walked together like a proper couple. Oh boy here we go again, Andrei thought as Lyuba inhaled and said, “As long as you have a face, I have a seat.” The statement was a little more fueled by frustration and Andrei thought of how cheesy that stupid line was. How long it was conjured up for possibly days, nights, or mere seconds. Lyuba then stresses the message, ”Now for the love of all that is holy don’t get shot,” Yeah... of course. Andrei was overall a little relieved that at least someone was taking an interest in his safety.
