Hawthorn, as in Celtic mythology the fox is the animal symbol for the Celtic Hawthorn Tree Sign, is an arctic fox with the abilities of using Fae magic and being a mild shapeshifter, capable of changing from a 6ft tall human to a 3ft tall animal, or even a 7ft tall anthro form as the need arises, of which these forms are a trait that Hawthorn often uses due to coming from deep in the forests of Ireland, but this tricky little fox seems to have taken a liking to protectively following Sorrel around, and has become a beloved part of the Wulver family, with all of them seeing some of Hawthorn's capabilities with her being faintly tied to the Fae, a very much feared, avoided, yet respected race of small, fairy-like tricksters who will do quite horrible things if they see it as a favor to someone, but never thank the Fae as they'll take it as you now owing them for their supposed assistance, and Hawthorn has a tie to the Fae, allowing her to perform her shapeshifting between quadruped, humanoid, and anthro, as well as it being how she found and learned sigils and spells to resurrect herself and others in case of an incident after being saved from a few Fae who wanted to take her to their realm to be fattened up and be food.
