Sunflower is an outdoors sort of girl. She loves open fields and forests, and anywhere where nature has been allowed to grow wild without being smothered under oceans of steel and concrete. Not that she doesn't enjoy the fruits of civilization too, but she grew up on a farm some distance from anything like a city and she's simply more comfortable out in the wilderness.
I've really fallen in love with this young lady since I bought her. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for deer. I spent my undergraduate years in the middle of a national forest and it was pretty common to see deer wandering about the campus, usually after midnight when they could have the place to themselves. They show up in my kitchen garden quite a bit during the summer, too, the naughty creatures. But they're such fun to watch I can't really begrudge them the odd mouthful. So expect to see more of this sort of theme with Sunny here.
I think I may make this her default outfit, too. Can you tell I like cargo shorts? It's the pockets. There's no such thing as too many pockets, if you ask me.

Aw, well, first, I didn't draw this. I just commissioned it. The artist is 
strawberryneko ( sbpawprint as her commission account), and I wish I had her talent. Second, and this is a lesson I've had to learn myself since I am a writer, but you shouldn't judge your work on somebody else's. I'm sure you'll get where she is in time.

It really is, especially considering that I bought this as a colored sketch, and I wasn't expecting there to be a background at all. She really did an amazing job with it. Oh, Sunflower has definitely grown on me and I have a feeling she might start showing every bit as much personality, and story potential, as Cassandra has in her turn. Which is really kind of exciting. I'll definitely have to do more with her in outdoor settings like this. I've already got an idea to get a bit of a follow up with her camping, possibly with her boy when he gets here.
Deer are all over the place here. To the point where, unfortunately, they often provide a danger to people on the highway. They're actually one of the most common wild animal sightings here, as well as rabbits, raccoons and opossums. I never have a camera with me, of course, or I might put some photos up here on FA. But they're a treat to watch if you can spot them. *Grins* Oh, but they quite wander into my kitchen, just the garden which is some little distance from the house. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them did come right up the window, though!

Yeah, I don't get to go out nearly as often as I used to back when I was in college. Every now and then I think about just driving down there and going out to the lake for the hell of it.

Oh, of course. Sunny's got a boyfriend of her own-he's currently being designed by 
luthiennightwolf and will show up with her after Luthien gets him done-so it would have to be platonic. Besides, Sunny's no fool! She might like to tease, but she's got a good sense of self preservation.
