Now that I think about it, a lot of artists who have done adopts have made species that were more complicated. I like those that are in depth but I wouldn't recommend selling them off so quickly because most people won't read in entirely like they should. Creating something new is always better, but to make adoptables with them, they should be kept simple enough.
And as for species, I prefer most canine/feline types rather than avian and reptiles but I love seeing all types, especially some that aren't seen often.

Which species would you prefer me to make for adopts? Personally, I prefer mice and rabbits, but original creations with features of either works.
Shaded/Unshaded? Unshaded...it helps to get a better idea of the color scheme, especially if gradients are involved.
What prices should put if I do start selling? $5 at the very least, $10 at the most. It'll depend on the complexity of and originality of each design...like if you use a digital bases for them all and how much you change each base by. A LOT of artists simply make one base and re-color it endlessly, giving no personality to any of them beyond their colors.

Hybrids are always so fun!
I am so done with canines and felines. Everyone does that and everyone has one. I think something darker and reptilian would be sweet. A dinosaur type or some sort of succubus mixed with something fluffy and cute. A bit of a hard and soft mix. Badass tail and wings, horns and such but with soft accents. Plush fluffiness around the neck and hips and such
I don't see a reason to put too much work into an adoptable. Unshaded is fine.
For your work i would EASILY start at $10 for a basic adoptable. Anywhere from $10-$20.
