I don't know why they didn't just make like visibility toggle-able, but hey.

It's Elon Musk's formerly-known-as Twitter. Nothing about these updates make sense.

For context, I've heard that Musk was caught with rather suspicious posts in his likes (I didn't see said posts myself), and now that change was forced upon the website formerly known as Twitter dot com under the name of "privacy", despite the many uses people had for the likes tab. I imagine the forced option is since someone intentionally hiding their likes is more suspicious that all likes being hidden site-wide. Also, allegedly hiding likes was already a Premium feature, so maybe he wasn't happy with that.

All of this mostly speculation, but it doesn't paint a good picture, doesn't it?

I can't say I'm surprised. That all sounds perfectly in character for ol' Elon.
Likes being hidden is very unfortunate, I liked to browse through artists likes to find new art from other artists I hadn't seen before.
Ah well. Just gives me another excuse to take a look at blue sky I guess
