Here's a joke I've been waiting to tell in this story for a while now. Having gotten more comfortable with drawing Tess, I'm able to get her expressions out clearer than before. I'm also still tweaking her all black outfit design with ways to make it read clearly. On the last page, I used highlights on the black fill parts, but here I colored the lines themselves. Not a full white, but rather a gentle coating with a shading brush. I also legit struggled for a bit over whether Tess' inner thoughts on panel 2 should have her accent or not.

We end on a brief introduction to our ninja babe assailant, who'll get a full rundown next page. She's yet another character with a speech quirk, so get ready for that.

Also, fun fact: The moves Tess tries to use are based off of what my old noivern, BoomBoom, from gen6 used. She was a real menace who used to quite regularly somehow out speed my greninja. Normally, that wouldn't be a big deal, however in my triple battle set up, it would often mean she'd blast him with Boomburst before he could set up Mat Block. Fun times.
