Eh, depends on the crime and the individual who committed the crime. If it was an accidental, or simply unintended, there should be a chance for redemption. However, if the crime was intentionally committed by a wicked and selfish individual, especially one who intends to commit similar or worse crimes in the future, I think eternal punishment is fair.

Wouldn't that be where reincarnation comes in? Like get yelled at and feel the wrath but not quite that you're punished for eternity. Reincarnation would be a mulligan.
