My life outside the fandom seen here. In my hand is a mic hooked up to a Motorola CDM1250 covering the UHF R1 band, which covers than 440 portion of ham radio. Ironically, the radio itself was surplus from Detroit Police, something I discovered after I received it from the seller on eBay since it has that info stamped on the bottom. That means one thing, Detroit PD upgraded to APCO P25, making the analog stuff obsolete and useful as secondhand stuff.

I had about five or six radios in this thing at one point. One covering VHF(CDM1250), this one, one Motorola Maxtrac that had been modified to cover the 6 meter ham band(50-54MHZ), my extremely rare Motorola Maxtrac that covers the 10 meter FM portion(29.5 on up, this is a very rare bandsplit for the Maxtrac and I've only seen one other Maxtrac appear on eBay one other time), another one covering VHF via a 110 watt Motorola MCS2000(Full power was fun to pull peoples legs with, I could be at my mom's 2 hours down the road and a group of guys back north could hear me but I couldn't hear them unless there was a band opening), my Yaesu FTM300DR for APRS ops specifically, and one Cobra 29LTD NW CB Radio. Factor in my police scanner I had at one point and that would make 7.....
