I just had an alternative TLK realities in my mind:
What if the roles of Mufasa and Taka were reversed and Taka became the king?
Or what if Mufasa never survived the flood in the beginning of his story and deceased with his parents, thus never met Taka anyway? Does this mean that Taka would be a great king in the end with no jealousy in his heart?🤔
It could be an interesting alternative universe for Scar! We will never see that (if you don't count fanfictions), but since the prequel is here soon, lot of ideas and stories are going through my mind. :D

I used to (and to some extent, still do) have a head-canon that Scar originally took issue with the oppression of the hyenas, which he thought he could only stop by being king, but gradually lost sight of that (maybe the hyenas screwed up so many times that he started thinking of them as lackeys instead of allies) and became so obsessed with becoming king that he forgot why he wanted to in the first place.
So I'd like to think he could have been a good king.
I'd also love to catch that cub in my beak, plop him into my nest and fluff myself out on top of him like a mother hen.

Thank you for commenting! This is a really good head-canon and surely possible. It will be interesting to see what Barry Jenkins had in mind when working on the prequel, maybe it will be something similar. I heard in one of the interview with the casting that Taka was "the sweetest cub". I would like to hug and squeeze him too!:D
