Sahima
“It’s time.” She stated.
……
“Kiyomi, I think its time we turned around.” Sahima stated once further.
Kiyomi
Kiyomi flicked her ear at the response but failed to make any reply. Her head was kept low to the ground, trying to grasp onto just any tiny bit of hint of her son. She didn’t want to give up, not yet.
They have been searching for months now. He disappeared without a trace. Not a scent left behind, not a single strand of hair gently swaying on the nearby twigs. Nothing. There was nothing. He was gone
Sahima
“Kiyomi, we need to go back! He’s gone. I’m sure if he-”
Kiyomi
“I know!” Kiyomi quickly stated.
“I know he’s gone. I… I just wanted to try a bit harder. I just can’t leave him lost like this.” She yelled. Tears began to swell up in her eyes, making her vision blurry and it was hard to see the footing in front of her. But it’s true. It has been months now and they have no leads to run on. Not a single thing. She had other pups to return home to too. She can’t just leave them behind. Though, she already did for the past couple of months. She wasn’t sure what to do at this point.
Sahima
“Kiyomi..” Sahima paused. “Kiyomi, we have to go back home. I’m sure he will come back on his own once he is ready.” Like she would if she was ready. She knew what he felt, and she wish she could help, but she was needed back at the tribe. She held a important position now. She needed to go back, but she couldn’t just leave Kiyomi out here by herself! She would feel guilty.
“Please, Kiyomi. Please, let’s just turn around. I’m sure your other children have missed your presence! I just feel that-”
Kiyomi
“Okay…..” Kiyomi cried.
……
“Okay... We’ll go back home.”
