Started working with various canvas. Managed to make soft, fabric eyes which can be sewn direct to the head. In theory, the head remains washable....in theory :D

The issue is that the fleece heads are soft n stretchy. A hard plastic eye could be glued in place, but would be a bot worried about it coming loose over time. That is why I was playing with fabric as an experiment. Nothing to stop you from asking for one with the common pladtic eyes though :)
And I appreciate the input as well. It's easy to feather rufled when accepting a critique. :)
The process is new, so I am expecting a lot of revisions along the way as I try bits n bobs, see what n how things works. The fleece heads have had a widely mixed reception. Many love the open eye face for ease of vision, others asked for fabric eyes, and some ask about the more commom plastic eyes. There isn't so much of a right vs wrong method, just a lot of opinions on what the best way is from personal experience. :)

you could also cast a soft washable silicone mold bonded to fleece to get the same look as plastic eyes, but keep the flexible/washable attributes of a sewn in eyes. then just throw those bad boys in with a satin stitch.
Hell, want me to cast a prototype? I have ever so much silicone, and I wanted to do something different with it.
