Actually I think the heat stroke is what leads to the visions. You halucinate and what you see can be interperated. I've attended Sundance (Not the film festival) and you can't help but wonder what these folks are feeling on the fourth day of dancing around the sacred tree in the heat. (Not to mention when they do the piercing)
