I also doodled a slice of life comic during class/critiques, and then I later colored it in one Saturday night.
Playing around with a secondary style because it's fun. Also trying to mess around with how to write an accent so it looks like an accent, but isn't so hard to read that it makes people want to punch the writer.

It has an odd earthly, or 'ethnic' feel to it. :B (I presume it reminds me of 'primitivism' not because the anatomy is disturbed in that way, but because the colour scheme is similar, hence why I think ethnic is the right/misleading word, I'm a hobbyist with Art History.) The use of textures is pretty nifty, as it's kinda uncommon to see and adds a very gritty look to the rock. But it's likely to have problems with consistency /averted due to the camera angles are different in panels one and four where I initially thought that might be a problem.
Speaking through the text, Alister's dialogue I think works, as it comes across Southern State American which is what I assume your trying to get at. I find Alistar biting at his hand cute, but just to say I love the comics you produce and can't wait to see what next you do; as an adoring fan to the symbol of her fascination; "You rock."
