Okay so I know pretty much nothing when it comes to designing things like this. I am totally lost!!!
So far, this is the design I have going for D's airship, because epic villains need epic modes of transportation. So far, this is the lamest airship ever.
INPUT IS DESIRED!!! please, if you do know more about this kind of thing or just have a good idea on how to make this look less retarded, then tell me
EDIT: Changed a few things.

I would say you are off to a good start with the design. The strongest parts are the front of the ship, especially with the skeleton at the forefront. The weakest parts are the tail end and that high stack level. This feels too BOXY and not as "nightmarish".
I like where you're going with the pipes and other steam punk looks. Just add more pipes and other essentials parts. Right now the ship is empty and boring. It needs more stuff too entertain our eyes and make use feel like "This deserves the name Nightmare".
I would say Research more ideas and designs and play around with where you're going. Maybe add a few more skulls and bones around the hull in a decorative fashion.

Yeah, I do want to add more to the design, but the problem being that I want to use this for comics... I don't want to make something that will completely burn me out.
I may end up removing the skeleton and turning the whole thing to look like a stolen/reworked military ship.

I see. Perosnally I like teh skeleton, it gives the ship a characteristic and a recognizable trait. If you look at some other comics, one thing they do is show off a fully detailed shot of an object and then just focus on the key silhouettes with colors and quick outlines. But that being said, you can still do more with less. So if you want too avoid the draining work of drawing the ship again and again, you can simplify it a bit and do away with a few decks and props and add on other key components.
Another idea would be too look at those Star Wars books that break down all the starships and vehicles to show their inner workings. They can give you a good idea of how your ship works inside and out.

I like it too, it just leads to the "where in the world did she get a giant metal skeleton to attach to a ship"
I at first had the idea of doing it more like a flying tank, but that idea only carries so far with my limited skill. However, I'm totally nixing the giant tail... it looks lame. I'm probably going to go through some of the stuff I have on WW2 planes that were never built, since I want it to have that feel (Seriously, I am a one trick pony).
Thanks for the ideas.
