Penelope: *sips on her tea and notices the viewers* Oh, hello! *lowers her cup* How do you do, my dear chaps? You have come at just the right time as we have reached the 80th anniversary of an important date in history when Britain, my home country, and the United States, my friend Sylvester's home country, come together to assist France, that everyone knows is the homeland of Pepe Le Pew, in the battle against the forces of evil that threatened the very foundations of peace around the world during the 1940s. Of course, that was a time before my mum, may she rest in peace, Sylvester's dad, and Pepe's dad, all had made their debuts in our immortal series Looney Tunes. But anyway, we have all come together to commemorate D-Day, in which the forces of my nation and Sylvester's, including Canada, have landed on the beaches of Normandy where have began the liberation of France, and we...
Pepe: Ohonhon! *runs to Penelope and hugs her* Come here, mon cherie! Let us show ze love we share as I thank vous for saving mon country for ze Germans! *smooches all over Penelope's face as she struggles to separate from him*
Penelope: Blimey, Pepe! Do you have to do this at a day when we are paying tribute to something so serious!
Pepe: Ze fiery spirit of you English is what I find so intriguing, so captivating, so je ne sais quoi, non? Now come on, and lower zat stiff upper lip of yours!
Sylvester: Sufferin' succotash! Can't you see we're running out of time? You two lovebirds stop your canoodling and let's get back to our speech!
Pepe: Oh, I am ze embarrassed!
Penelope: Thank you, Sylvester.
Sylvester: No problem, Penny.
Penelope: Anyway, it's been 80 years since the Allies have landed on Normandy, saved France from the Nazis, and won the battle.
Sylvester: And you couldn't have done it without us Americans, sis!
Penelope: Oh, Sylvester, you Yanks think you're the greatest, but we jolly Brits have done our part too!
Sylvester: Yes, of course. *grins sheepishly* I just got carried away there.
Penelope: Time to finish this as I must get back to having my cuppa tea...
Pepe: Don't forget about ze Yorkshire puddings and ze chips and fish, while I'll be enjoying le entree with ze finest red wine, tres bien!
Sylvester: Ain't got nothin' on soda and some pizza with canary on it!
Penelope: *miffed* Bloody hell! Can't you blokes concentrate, please?!
Sylvester and Pepe: Oops...
Penelope: Right, that's enough nonsense for the day, then again, that's why we're the Looney Tunes, so, let us all wish a heartfelt D-Day to everyone, a prayer of respect to the brave soldiers who fought and died in the War for the freedom of the world, and here's to Great Britain."
Pepe: "And Vive la France!"
Sylvester: "And God bless America!"
All three: "Th-th-th-that's all, folks!"
This is something I whipped up on the fly as I learned that today's the 80th anniversary of D-Day, which as you all know, is what Penelope, Pepe and Sylvester came to talk about in the skit above. Speaking of which, did you enjoy it? It was funny coming up with the dialogue and banter between the three tunes, and of course this further adds to why I believe Penelope should be British as we get the three characters, each black and white, representing the big three nations to have the flags of red, white and blue, which is perfect for putting together a D-Day tribute. I think this should be made official. Hope you all have a lovely evening, and I'll see you guys next time!
