The doctor seeing the state Dexter is in tries to comfort him by offering to hypnotize him.

Doc: "Whats wrong Mr Barnes?"

Dexter: "..."
"I'm stuck like this, In a baaaaady I never wanted, Posibaaally forever, Trapped here, and with no hope of escaping..."
I gritted my teeth trying to hold back from saying anything too harsh.
"What ISN'T wrong!"

Doc: "You still have your brother, you still have people from your past. When it comes to you Alan and Cameron. I view as a kindness to let you three join the flock. I've utilized connections to the other residents to get new recruits however most of the time they end up in seperate pens."

Dexter: "And I'm supposed to give up my career to do what?! Be treated like some mindless livestock?"

Doc: "Obedient, Dependent, Loyal, But not mindless. As much I enjoy a mindless servant or two I typically favor the more intelligent ones, even IF they are more likely to criticize my methodology."

Dexter: "So, I'll still be free to pursue my job as a programmer?"

Doc: "Of course!! I'm in need of more programmers anyhow. If you be a good sheep I might even let you help out on a VR game I've been working on!"

Dexter: "That sounds good!? I think?"

Doc: "Glad to hear it! Now be a good sheep, Put your collar back on. And follow me."

I grabbed the collar put it around my neck and clicked it in place.
And instinctively followed behind him as he walked into a van and he drove me to a strange mix between a lab and a hospital.
