This is a deviation of me and Asterius from the game Tokyo Afterschool Summoners, with my best friend Luis watching in the distance. It's a mixed media deviation with the characters in the foreground colored in with prisma color pencils and the background colored in with acrylic paint. This piece was actually made on September 7th of 2022 but was held back on uploading it but I've decided to upload it today because today is my best friend's birthday. He would've turned 27 today.

Asterius' summon date is on September 7th, which was the day I met Luis. Luis and I met almost 8 years ago at Community College and we immediately clicked. We both majored in animation and we'd hang out everyday after class to talk about our favorite topics like FilthyFrank, VOCALOID, Pink Floyd and how stupid politics is. Even after I transferred to a different university, we still got together as much as we could and a year later, he bought me a PlayStation hat as part of his payment for making him a panda fursuit head. I remember how we were both meant to graduate in December of 2020 and I would've offered him to move in with me as my roommate after graduation but unfortunately, that's a plan that got washed away like a drawing on the beach. In September of 2020, he was killed in a collision with a drunk driver on his way home from work. Eye witnesses say the drunk driver was driving 60mph when the limit was 30 and the police found 6 cans of beer, half a bottle of Captain Morgan and they said the car smelled like burning marijuana. Ever since I found out about this, I vowed to give up drinking alcohol entirely. I don't even miss my drinking to this day. Not only that, but I try to wear the PlayStation hat he bought me as much as I can to honor him. Sometimes I even refer to it as Luis' goshintai, a vessel that houses a Deity. And yes, Asterius is wearing that same hat.

What's more, while I don't follow it anymore, Luis was born in the Year 1997 which according to the Chinese Zodiac is the year of the Fire Ox and I was born under the sign of Fire Rat which is how I formed my strong faith in the Chinese Zodiac. Asterius being a bull and therefor an Ox made him one of my favorite transients in the whole game. Part of me even feels as though he knows how much I love him because even after getting my original account deleted and having to make a new one, he was the only transient I was able to summon on both my accounts. That combined with his summon Date being on the same day I met Luis as well as being under the same sign as him made me think that there was something special about him and just like that, I've been treating Asterius almost like an actual being, (Not too dissimilar to that of a weeaboo treating their waifus as real people. XD) In fact, it's because of Asterius that I've completely gave up eating beef. No literally. In the time of typing this, it's been 29 months since I last ate beef and instead of showing interest in cows and bulls alike by eating them, I took to researching and drawing them. Admittedly I do miss having a hot juicy burger with french fries and a milkshake from In N Out but such a luxury was totally worth giving up~
