I really don't know how much FA can deal with transparent background gifs, so it'd just be weird if it doesn't work.. but I made a Du animation! I swear!
.. Anyways, how things are right now, when you hit "post" on a new LV submission you really get no feedback that it's, well, posting. It doesn't matter with most art, the process is nearly instant. But there is the option to resize things, apply watermarks, etc. So if you're having operations like that on, say, a multi file submission with gif's (which'll need that done with every frame), the time to process everything can actually become uncomfortably long.
Thusly I figured that some sort of "loading screen" is needed, and I made this gif to go with that.
It's not actually on the site yet- but I'll slot that in on the next update. I'm pretty happy with it so I'm sharing it early. c:
Oh yeah- there'll be the option to disable it of course. I think it's not nice to force such animations onto the user experience. :| (I got the friggin' motion->sound synesthesia, I'd know, hahah.)
There's also the current issue that animated thumbnails on browse can't be disabled. I'm gonna fix that soon. Taking the first frame of a gif is kinda lame, and forces animators to change when their gif starts so that it's a good one. Given that multi file submissions are in place, I might just build on that and allow a following non-gif file to be used as a "fallback thumbnail".
.. That's just me thinking, anyways. I'm pretty open to suggestions, if I get a better idea I'll do things differently.
Other then that.. I got quite a bit of commissions in line, including a sorta big custom animation even. To my commissioners: They're coming along! Good chance I'll have something done tomorrow too..

ommmmmg this is so cute! I think a loading screen like this would be fun!
I know i haven't used my acct in sometime on there ^ ^;, but do you think you could make it so that gifs auto play when the mouse hovers over it? Moving gifs can be distracting sometimes, but I think being able to preview them like that would be nice!
Also good luck on ur comms! Looking forward to seeing them :>
