Dancing in the Bunlight
Heksile had never been good at social events, finding small talk between furs he’d never met before the bane of his existence. Even amongst co-workers, conversations would only last a sentence or two before it devolved into awkward silence and staring at your drink cup. Even worse was this was a formal event; now he had to be awkward in a stuffy overpriced suit. This was the kind of event Heksile would immediately say no to, however the higher ups at his job demanded his attendance. Something about playing nice with investors.
The bird hated to admit it, but it was a good point. No investors meant no funding for the avian's lab. Having to swallow his pride, Heksile had to find a tux rental, and hope the night went by quick. If there was one positive side to all this, he wouldn’t be going alone. Thankfully, he was able to invite a friend to the party, so at least he would have someone to chat with that didn’t involve work.
Though even that plan fell apart, for as soon as the two went in, they were quickly separated. Not even five minutes into joining the party did Heksile lose his companion. The bird turned around once, and when returning to his friend, he found that Keys was gone.
After a moment of frantic searching Heksile found his friend, sheepishly waving back at him while scooped up in the arms of a familiar looking hippo. The bird rolled his eyes, so much for solidarity. Knowing both the hippo and the dragon, this would be the last he would see of either of them, putting him back at square one being by himself.
Well, there was at least the snack bar.
For as fancy a party as this looked, the hosts insisted that guests bring their own treats. Whether that was an ice breaker or a way to skirt the cost of catering, Heksile was hoping that there would be at the very least some awesome snacks. Granted...the bird waited til the last minute to get something; and as a result, the only thing left from his local bakery was a carrot cake. He was hoping that it would be somewhat of a hit, then he saw what the snack bar actually contained.
Hors d’oeuvres, olives and cheese, cucumber sandwiches, things the bird didn’t even recognize stuffed in a small cup. It was gonna be one of those kinda snack bars.
Sighing, Heksile admitted defeat, tonight was more than likely going to be a disaster. The only fur he could talk to for longer than ten minutes without it getting awkward was about to be flattened via pachyderm pneumatic press, and he could already feel the glares aimed at him as he lay the out of place carrot cake by the decidedly fancier canapé.
Taking a glance at his watch the bird winced: it had only been five minutes since he arrived.
This was gonna be a long night.
Luckily he was able to find a quiet little corner where he could nurse his mini hors d’oeuvres in peace. The bird really felt out of his element here, tables were filled with furs chatting with one another. If they weren’t socializing they were grooving it to music played by a live band. Between the options of either chatting with furs he’s never met, or busting gauche dance moves for all to see, Heksile chose the secret third option of retreating and hoping no one would notice him until the end of the night.
Maybe he could get a drink, the avian wondered, surely the bar here would give at least one f-
“Hey there!”
Heksile gave out a shrill cry, turning around to see a bunny be the one who took him by surprise.
“Woah, you okay there?”
“Me? Oh yeah, you just took me by surprise that’s all.”
Taking a better look at his besieger, he was surprised that someone of her...size managed to sneak up behind him. Height wise she was a good foot or two taller than him, not including her ears, which gave her an extra boost that the avian frankly thought was just cheating. Just from a quick glance Heksile could tell that his wingspan wouldn’t come close to fully wrapping around her width.
This bunny had some seriously wide hips, though to discredit the rest of her assets would be a disservice; she sported a plump soft belly as well as breasts that easily dwarfed the bird’s head in size. All somehow contained tightly in a red dress that amplified and accentuated every curve of her figure, the material sparkling and glistening in the light.
“Heh, I seem to have a knack for that.” The bunny smiled, her yellow and cream fur complimenting the red dress she was wearing.
Even sporting a cocky grin, her amiable soft blue eyes showed she meant no ill will. Heksile was trying to pay attention while getting every detail of the bun, from the pink hair going past her shoulders to the faint smell of vanilla she seemed to be giving off. Heksile had to admit that she was rather pretty, but that brought up a question; what on earth was she doing chatting with this goober of a bird?
“I didn’t mean to spook ya, but I have to know, I think I saw you coming in earlier. Were you the one who brought in that carrot cake?”
Heksile winced, “Yeah that was me, I’m sorry. I didn’t realize that we were only supposed to bring “fancy” things.”
“Are you kidding? It’s the only edible thing at that table! I’m glad someone had the sense to bring the best cake ever made!”
Well, that wasn’t what Heksile was expecting to hear. Seeing the bunny’s unbridled enthusiasm, the bird couldn't help but chuckle, which caused his companion to raise a brow.
“What’s so funny eh?”
“Sorry,” Heksile chortled, “You know, you’re a bunny, and you really like carrot cake.”
“Oh ha ha,” She playfully rolled her eyes, batting the bird’s shoulder, “Well you’re one to talk.” The bunny motioned to his plate.
Looking at it, Heksile saw the crackers he picked up that were dusted with birdseed.
“Okay, fair point.”
“Don’t think you’re gonna get away with coming from nowhere, bringing the absolute best carrot cake I've ever had, and then slink away without telling me where you got it from!”
Heksile would raise his wings in mock surrender, but the bunny quickly grabbed one of them, yanking it in her direction. “You’re coming with me!” Soft as she looked, the bunny was quite strong, the bird yelping as he was quite easily yanked by the big bunny. “Oh, I’m Jiggly by the way, it’s nice to meet you Heksile.”
He was about to ask how on earth she knew his name, or if Jiggly was actually her name rather than a moniker, but the bunny beat him to the punch, glancing at his tuxedo jacket, which just so happened to still have the rental tag with his name written.
I knew I was forgetting something, Heksile thought to himself, face palming. At the very least it earned a chuckle from the plump bunny, further cementing the idea that Jiggly was both adorable and incredibly beyond his social skill.
Upon reaching Jiggly’s table, there were several things that surprised Heksile at once. For starters, the bunny and the bird were the only ones there. Next, a detail that the avian tried not to focus on too much, was that Jiggly needed two seats to properly sit down. Even then her rear overflowed, spilling from the sides of both chairs, the frames creaking as they somehow managed to support her weight. Honestly a third chair might have been needed...
Deciding not to think too much on that, a flustered bird then spotted the very cake he brought over, sitting nicely on the table, seemingly all for Jiggly. The bunny grinned, serving herself another slice, “Well, it’s not like anyone else was gonna eat it.”
Heksile chuckled, “Well, if this party isn’t your kind of vibe, what brought you here in the first place?”
Jiggly sighed, “Well you’re right, these kinds of things aren’t usually my thing. My friend’s a tailor, she makes most of my clothes, this one included,” she tugged her dress for emphasis, Heksile using all of his willpower to not overtly stare at her wobbling cleavage, “She told me it was gonna be a girls night, having drinks, on and on. And what do you know, as soon as we head in she ditches me.”
Jiggly motions to the other side of the hall, Heksile could barely make out a purple rabbit, one with a more hourglass shape to her figure, she was surrounded by several furs, practically chomping at the bit to get near her.
“Heh, I know how you feel,” Heksile chuckles, “I came in with a friend as well, as soon as I turn my head they’re swept off their feet...literally.”
“Ah well, that just means we’re stuck with each other for the night then.” The bunny winked.
Heksile tugged at the collar of his shirt, was it him or was this place getting hotter? “Now,” she purred, eyes lidded, “About where you got that amazing carrot cake from...”
Well, it was definitely him. The way she was looking at him, he would have freely told her his bank account information had she asked. Luckily, she only wanted to know about his local bakery.
“Heh, well,” Heksile stammered, trying to keep his cool, “it’s from a bakery near where I live. Tess really does make the best desserts! Funny enough, I’ve never actually tried her carrot cake before; the only reason why I got it was because it was all she had left for the day.”
“Well my compliments to Tess, this is the best carrot cake I’ve ever had, and I’ve had my fair share." Jiggly cooed, giving her stomach a soft pat.
Now more than ever Heksile was grateful for whatever force in the universe there was that he chose to get that carrot cake.
“Still, I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this place! I thought I knew all the spots for a good treat around here!”
“It’s a bit of a hidden gem,” Heksile declared, chest fluff puffing up a bit as he spoke, “If you think the carrot cake is good wait til you try everything else!”
“I may just have to take you up on that,” The bunny winked, “Maybe you can show me where it is and what the best treats are someday...”
The bird smiled, “Oh it’s actually not that far off from here, I could give you the address, then you could go whenever you want!”
Jiggly chuckled, “Aw that’s real sweet of you, but I'm not that good with directions. I’d probably end up getting lost, I think it would be much better if you were there with me, maybe split a cake or two...”
It was only at that moment that Heksile realized what she was really asking for; and just how close he was to being an absolute numbskull and train wrecking it.
“O-Oh! Well when you put it like that...” He stammered, a blush burning in his face.
A fact that Jiggly wasn’t helping by leaning in close, closing the distance between the two of them, gingerly placing a soft hand on his wing.
“That sounds nice, doesn't it? As long as you don’t mind paying; I’ve got quite the sweet tooth if you couldn’t tell.”
Heksile didn’t know if he was about to pass out, have his heart explode, or have his feathers puff out. Perhaps all at once...
Though it seemed like divine intervention that the lights dimmed, temporarily pausing Jiggly from mercilessly teasing the bird. The band played a softer melody, causing the furs on the dance floor to slow down and waltz.
The bunny’s brow raised curiously, “Ooh, a slow dance, wanna give it a shot birdie?”
Heksile’s feather’s ruffled, if there was one thing he was worse at than socializing it was dancing. He somehow had a good streak going with Jiggly, he’d hate to ruin it now.
“Eh, probably for the best if I don’t. I’m not exactly the best dancer.”
“Hey neither am I, but hey, might as well give it a shot right?”
The bunny didn’t give Heksile a chance to say no, once again showing her hidden strength by effortlessly yanking the bird towards the dance floor.
Well, this was his worse nightmare
Being squat center in a dancefloor where everyone can see you, a headless chicken being able to dance better than you....
The avian took a deep breath, he could get through this, just focus on Jiggly, don’t let anything else get to you. A task that was surprisingly easier said than done. His whole view was surrounded by the soft bun; looking up he could only see her smiling down at him, as well as her cleavage, but the bird chose to focus on her adorable smile.
Hand in wing, the two began to move with the rhythm of the music, and while he did his best, Heksile was as stiff as cardboard.
Jiggly chuckled, “See, not so bad right? You just gotta relax a bit.”
She pulled Heksile closer to her soft figure, the bird blushing like crazy as her pillow soft stomach pressed against him, his own beak dangerously close to nestling between her cleavage. All the while the bunny had guided one wing to rest on her hip, as far as he could reach to her hip anyways.
All this time Heksile thought his wings were the softest thing around, he was glad to be shown wrong by this marshmallow of a bunny.
“There, all better.” She grinned.
He had no idea whether or not she was doing this to genuinely help or be a tease. But as the two danced, Heksile found that he didn’t care about anyone here aside from Jiggly, right now his whole world was this big bunny who he had the luck of dancing with, and for sure was going to drain his wallet come time he took her to Tess’ bakery.
He was sure he was grinning like a goof that was having his dream come true, but he didn’t really care about that either, in fact it seemed endearing to Jiggly, giving him a sweet smile back.
Perhaps these kinds of parties weren’t so bad after all...

This is now one of my favorite fat fur artworks to this day and my favorite artwork and story of Kazecat's Jiggly Bunny. I usually don't care much for Kazecat's Jiggly, probably because she usually looks a little small compared to Kazecat's other huge and fat characters, but I like how she looks so tall and big here compared to someone more "normal" sized and also how soft her fat body looks here. Makes me want to sleep while cuddling all I would be able to reach of her huge body.
