So while I DO prefer Balto 2’s canon that Balto’s mother Aniu is the white wolf from the first movie, I also thought it’d be fun to play around with a different AU idea where she isn’t (and yes iirc I’m aware that director Simon Wells said that he originally imagined that Balto’s DAD was the wolf while his mom was the working husky but didn’t confirm such)
Hell with how Aniu is drawn in Wolf Quest's cheap DTDVD sequel animation they already look like two completely separate characters lol.
But anyway tl dr; Balto AU where Aniu and the White Wolf from the first movie are two different wolves

yeah it'd be silly if there was just one white wolf lol and you'd be correct. white wolf from the first movie is confirmed male in the script and he's HUGE.
balto's ghost mom is odd and just raises more questions. like, what made her so "great" as described from the wolf pack? did she become a spirit after being seperated from her pup? I'd assume so. it is funny how down to earth balto is like "okay? that just happened..." and he just trots off not worrying about it. regardless, she may be his mother but Boris is his daddy. ^^

I always assumed that Aniu didn't really have much significance as a person until after she died and Nava started turning to her as his spirit guide. There's just a lot of potential for Aniu's backstory :P Also "she may be his mother but Boris is his daddy" YES truer words never spoken

Nice scenario and so many sweet memories! Back when i was uh...14. I was kinda obsessed with two (different in many ways) sequels: Balto2 and TLK2 xD
Now ages later i teach to 11-13yo, never miss to show Balto before winter vacation and toss the hint about the white wolf's identity xd
