So a bit of context for this one, but I read that the Chaos Emeralds possess some form of sentience and self-awareness as well as the ability to respond to thoughts and transform them into power. So a thought came to mind: what if during one of Eggman's plans to collect the emeralds, his badniks were then used to create robotic bodies for the emeralds while tapping into the powers of the Northstar Islands. This is my idea of a Robian Dragonfly named Lapis who has the powers of the Blue "Avatar" Chaos Emerald.
