The last of a sub-species, a holdover from the last little ice age. Lions that were unusually large and sturdy, with very full black manes and notably aggressive temperament. (i figure that many of the evil lions in TLK have this strand in them) Unfortunately, in a way, his sub-species is no longer really supposed to exist. Summers are absolute torture. While he is an expert at big game hunting... that's all he's good at. During these difficult times, some refer to him as "King in name only" and this hurts him very much on the inside. The global climate is real shitty due to a volcanic eruption. There is no more big game, making him essentially useless. Under normal conditions, he would make a great leader. Thusly he is a victim of environment.
I like it when lions have these gashes on their muzzles
Zira asks how he got those gashes:"Not many others like me. so i get challenged a lot... or at least i used to.. but i hope you notice the obvious... I'm alive... which means, they're not. There's nothing wrong with scars, they remind you of the past. We can't control how we get them. Just make sure you get them for the right reasons."
His tail is permanently broken in the middle, a cause of constant pain.(bitten by a hyena)
Notice that on the left side he only has 2 whiskers... Hyena ripped them off(you can imagine his opinion of them isn't very good at this point)
I still need to sketch size comparisons, to show scale. he's a nice 500 pounder. Imagine someone who could kick Mufasa's ass. Too bad they're not of the same generation ;p
In tis fanfic, i did intentionally make him have a vague resemblence to myself... at least before i had a haircut ;p Also, the more i think of it, the more i realize that he's really like a projection of myself. I give him my beliefs and philosophies (so pay attention, you might learn something about me) Feels so much more versatile and fitting.
on that note..... i'm not so sure about my dragon character anymore : *sigh* i'm not saying i'm changing it but.. meh..
