So, I've been slowing down again (cuz I'm buying a house wooooooooooo) but its that time again!
LEGACY SILVERBOLT
Silverbolt is like, my favourite guy from Beast Wars. He's a big stupid himbo birddawg whats not to love. His old figure was kinda ass (I sold it in November) but MAN this one is so much better. I mean, it can actually stand for one. It's pretty interesting how little it actually shares with the original, engineering-wise. Man he looks good with Kingdom Blackarachnia. I just hope they continue to give us stuff from Beast Wars Seasons 2 and 3.
LEGACY MAGMATRON
... And the Japanese Beast Wars shows. I've only got into them recently and I will say I found Beast Wars Neo hard to get into, but Magmatron is still a good antagonist, if only because his design fuckin rocks man. This is probably my favourite Commander Class figure yet. Like he can turn into a small army of Dinosaurs, or this horrifying dino-turducken monstrosity I love it
DNA DESIGNS TERRORCON UPGRADE KIT
So, Scourge already had his upgrade kit, and I posted that last month, but DNA released a second set to round him out, and improve the other two. Battletrap's upgrades are flawless, and Nightbird's are a bit fiddly but mostly unobtrusive - Scourge's second set of upgrades make him even more fiddly and I'm really considering just fuckin gluing them onto him, but they sure do look good.
LEGACY STARSCREAM
Like Silverbolt, this is another one I had the original figure of. This one is perhaps less solid in some areas, and I prefer the maroon of the original over the grey here, but overall this is another stellar update. He retains much of the old engineering, but there's some new tricks that make him much more articulated, and give him a more cohesive spaceship form.
BEAST WARS IGUANUS
For some insane reason Hasbro released a bunch of original Beast Wars figures as reissues back when Kingdom was running, meaning you could spend a lesser amount on the cool new version, or more on the reissue of the old stuff? So of course the reissues sold terribly, and I managed to snag Iguanus here for 80% off, which I did cuz he never appeared on screen (although a recolour did in Beast Wars Neo) and thus never got a Kingdom figure. He's fine, but dated. Not got all that much to say about him really. Definitely DONT pay full price for him he is not worth £25 at his size.
DX9 LA HIRE/ MASTERPIECE HOT ROD (BOOTLEG)
So this is almost certainly a bootleg, since it came secondhand with a different box to what I've seen the official in. But whatever, its a solid, deceptively simple figure that looks absolutely stellar in both modes, and has insanely good articulation. Hell, I'm not even that into TLK Hot Rod, but this figure really does him justice.
MASTERPIECE BUMBLEBEE
I've been informed by friends this is also a bootleg, which is possible since I got him with Hot Rod, secondhand, and without a box, but again whatever he's solid. It's honestly kinda amazing how much more accurate this is than the newer Studio Series Bumblebee - which on the one hand makes some sense, but then tbf they aren't that different in levels of complexity. He's been sitting on my desk since I got him, since he's so fun to fiddle with.
LEGACY CHEETOR
He's only a lil guy but I hear they wanted to test the waters on Beast Machines redos before committing, since the series is controversial within the TF fandom. And I mean, this is a good figure, he's certainly more accurate than the original, but I do want a larger one with more articulation and paint. And a more lithe Cheetah form; this one is weird and boxy.
LEGACY SHARD
Like the other two neo-Rock Lord figures I posted about before Shard here is kind of a glup shitto asspull character created entirely for this figure to exist, although tbf she has some basis in a G1 S3 episode. She's very good looking; much moreso than the other two Rock Lords, and she's surprisingly dynamic in terms of articulation. Definitely my favourite of the modular figures they've done in the past few years. Her or last year's Axlegrease.
