It was the end of May in Hometown, whilst for many this was a time of dread with the incoming and overwhelming heat of Summer, for 9 lucky students, it was anything but fear, for it was finally the end of the college semester! After half a year of trials and tribulations, they could finally sit back and relax for a while!

...Though there was still the ceremony, and something about it was...strange. The campus gymnasium was almost completely empty, and oddly dim...and there was something else that caught the attention of a select few students, something they hadn't seen in what felt like years...
...little cracks in the ground, gently pouring out a translucent, dark fog. They were all over the floor. Whilst nobody realized it, the Dark World had...changed in the intervening time since it was last known to the Light, it had become far more...indulgent for lack of a better term, and that indulgence was on the cusp of breaking through.

But before anyone could figure out what they were themselves, they suddenly BURST open with a resounding ROAR, erupting shadow from the floor as the room was completely transmogrified! The gym floor became adorned with colorful, glowing tiles, the walls became metallic and sleek as they were covered in printed on stars and patterns, deep bassy music began to play from seemingly every direction, and the roof raised up high as a gigantic, reflective mirror ball swung down, showering them in light! This light felt warm, unnaturally warm, like the warmth of a nice cozy bed...or maybe that was something else growing in~

Bit by bit, the hair of the students grew exponentially, straights turning to curls, puffing and fluffing like pillows, curling upward and outward to form gigantic balls of hair, becoming impossibly thick and dense, even on those who did not originally have hair it grew and grew, sprouting forth and rocking like jello, it was a HUGE afro, crowned upon every head beneath the light!~

Despite how strange this all was, they felt oddly comfortable, FAR more than usual, in fact...it wasn't long before they began to embrace it, beginning to dance, embracing the funky anomaly they had found themselves in! With each move made, their afros grew bigger, and with each move made, they became more engulfed in it...literally~ Hair that was just as thick and fluffy as their afros slowly expanded on their torsos, engulfing them bit by bit, until their heads were the only parts left unexposed, leaving them with a snowman-esque shape, a true afro daruma for the ages~ If anyone were to walk in on this, they would find over half a dozen giant balls of wooly fluff, bouncing and wobbling in every direction as they got down with the groove...of course, they would only have a few moments to process this before likely joining in themselves~

Won't you, too?~ The night is still young, and your head would look so much better with a crown of hair~
