Hmmmmm, hard choice. To destroy break and fight might harm arty. And eating the guy might let him possess your body. Or worse. With anger rage and hatred you could also kill Arty and I don't know what the heck Urrrrrrgggghhh is. It would seem the best thing you can do is number 1. That way whatever this thing is won't be able to possess any more of these monstrosities and arty will be safe too.

I'd go with option one. The rage and devouring seem a bit much, given that we don't really know what any of these creatures are doing down here. All we need to do is save Arty. No point in devouring defenseless slaves or anything like that.
