When taking a few pics in VRChat with Crispy's rodent model to make themed pics for #tftuesday instead of just doing like my usual silly TF posts with it, I wanted to try to do a photo-novel instead. Probably a bad idea ;p
It's just a test, if I ever redo it again, I'll try to get the proper tools to do it better. It's something I wanted to test before with fursuits or cosplays pics.
I should have take more pics too so I could add a few more frames and avoid to put too much text in the last frame.
It misses several frames as well to show the full room so that people can understand better that everything is happening in just one messy room. I guess it would require doing a storyboard too so I can give more space to put text, and divide the pages better. Well too much work for me;)

And wait until his sister learns about it, and bring the cutest dresses she could find in her daughter toy box.
More seriously, I really like this avatar a lot, I've another mouse I'm using right now with some pretty nice clothes, and I definitively need to try to adapt some outfits to this one too ^_^

If you have VRChat, you can buy this one here (it's the bunny model but you have the rodent version that goes with it inside the bunny pack.

There is a free public version of the bunny you can try too, but I'm not sure in which world you can find it. Maybe you can check on the discord, there should be a link to try it.

Happy to see you're still around :)
I hope you're ok and going well.
I could have made eventually a video too like some people do, but it would require even more work, and I don't love how my voice would sound, even if I have a voice changer too that I'm using sometimes in VRChat for fun.
It's something I did think to do a long time ago with fursuits or cosplays too. But it's only few days ago when having a story idea when I did see the pics I did take in this world, that I could maybe try to do it and would be better than just posting a pic or two on twitter and Bluesky, with just the text in the post describing what I say in each pic. I should have think sooner it could be better to just add the text directly to the pic, and do small comic strips that way.
My problem now is I'm quite working the opposite of what I guess should be done.
I mean, it's the same with my fursuit pics here on FA, and the text stories I've made to go with them.
I usually take a lot of pics, trying plenty of different poses, and then when I do see the pics, it's inspire me ideas and stories about what is happening there.
While I should probably do a storyboard before to organize things better and have already the text, page's frames ready.
VRChat is really usefull as a setting too, as I can explore a lot of different settings and worlds, go back several times to the same place, take my cam there, and choose angles, trying a few poses, looking for ideas and make a storyboard, before going back and do the final photoshoot.
About the body tracking, it really helps getting the poses and expression rights too. There are some assets you can use like Gogo Loco if you don't have body tracking and that I've used already too, as it's great to have some
poses that would be hard to do with my actual bodytracking system which works great for like 80% of the time, but is maybe less accurate or harder to use for some other poses (but it was cheap) ;)
I hope you're ok and going well.

Someday I'll get full body traking. I have the VR headset already, but never got the "Wow" factor pushing me to it.
VR to me is okay... not much more interesting than this. VR chat is fun, but I dislike having to start Unity editor to customize avatars or just add gadgets and clothes to them.
I wish VR chat was like secondlife. I think there's a VR chat competitor that's much more like this, with real objects you can wear, but I guess there's not many people on it.

My first bodytracking was really cheap, and cost me like less than 40€, most of it because of the software to make it work, and there is a free software that is working too eventually for this one.
I was using a kinect with driver4vr. It was working quite ok. I have both versions of the kinect, and there was almost no diffrences between the two (one is requiring an usb3 though).
For the hardawre, you just need to find a kinect and you can find them in pawn shops for just a few euros if you don't have one already, or maybe someone can lend you one. Then you need to buy an usb adaptator for it.
For the software part, you can use driver4vr which is a payant soft. It does support a lot of other options for bodytracking though. Like you can use pretty much everything to do a basic bodytracking with it, PS3 cams, a webcam with printed cardboard, wiimotes and a lot of other things. It offers a very basic bodytracking, it's far from perfect but allow to check bodytracking for cheap.
You have a free software that is working great too and is called Amethyst, that supports Kinect, PlayStation Move and others.
I like VR a lot because I can try a lot of designs and different species, patterns for them. It did realy helps me into testing ideas for eventually what I would like for my next fursuits. I know if I play always with the same avatars over and over, I would probably love to get it as a fursuit at some point, and help me decide about what fur patterns or colers I would like, or even eventually haircuts and outfit styles.
I love how vrchat is easy to use too. Expect for the avatar customisation if you want to do it yourself, which is quite time consuming, but I like this a lot too, and trying to optimize models so they could be rated at least medium is kind of fun to me ^_^
When I did try second life it was looking nice, but it was far less immersive to me, and not easy to use with the shortcuts. I still hope that maybe they will do a VR version of this one though.
Some friends did use Neos, but my computer would have been a bit too low with it, and it seemed a bit too much complex for me.
Now they are using Resonite, and Chillout VR. I didn't made the switch yet as 90% of people I know are using mostly vrchat and as vrchat can work in desktop or with a quest in stand alone, it allows more firends to join for cheaper without buying an expensive VR set to join.
About avatars, you have people that can customise them for you for cheap sometimes if you don't want to spend time doing it yourself. There is a lot of tutorials and tools easy to use too that helps adding quicky something eventually.
