Writer Dan Slott had been my partner on the "Ren and Stimpy" comic books, and in 1995 Marvel asked us if we had any of our own ideas for funny books. Well of course we did. We presented them with Fingers the Fox, Looey the Raccoon, and Kretch the Weasel. Marvel were very keen on the idea, but about that time upper management decided to cease publishing all humor titles. Well, that was that... or so we thought.

A short time later some of the old Marvel editors were at Acclaim's new comic book department. They asked us if we would bring these guys to them. Sure, we said, and it looked like we were in business again.

...But then Acclaim decided to stop publishing comics altogether, and our gang was out in the cold again.
