A commission for
silver-stag, featuring a himbo giraffe in the employ of my cheshire Theo, which can only lead to good things. When Theo's apprentices accidentally blow up part of his estate, he lets both of them play with Chance a bit to settle an argument about the best way to alter Theo's clients- Chance doesn't have much of a choice in the matter, but he'll grow to like it, I'm sure. Enjoy!
----
Both of Theo's apprentice's began shouting all at once, speaking over one another as a string of accusations and insults pointed at the other came pouring out of them. "Enough!" the green cheshire shouted with another flash of thunder and lightning, storm clouds beginning to roll over the cosmic sky of his estate. Theo's sleeves burst as a surge of power flooded through the cheshire, his musculature growing bigger and bigger— he swelled past Chance's girthy proportions as his chest jutted forward like an advancing army, his arms pumped with anvil-sized triceps and biceps peaking like hills as he gripped both of them. He dug his claws into both of the cheshire brothers, and then popped both of them from the pressure— he hoisted up the reconstituted Aurele and Nox, one in each hand, their feet dangling as their master now outsized them by several feet.
"I have had quite enough of this." Theo hissed. His anger abated as he heard clapping behind him. All three glanced towards Chance. The giraffe's claps slowly died down.
"I, heh—" he chuckled bashfully. "I just thought that was really awesome, Mr. T."
Theo's mouth twisted. "Thank you, Chance," he sighed. He sank back to his original form, a new gold waistcoat and fine blue overcoat slipping over his form. "Now, gentlemen…" His eyes flashed red, even as his smile returned. "What in the name of Summer glory were you doing?"
Both Aurele and Nox glanced guiltily at each other, as if they could will the other to speak first. "We had a… spirited debate, Master Theo. That's all— we were having a debate about which, er, form you work in for your clients is most useful, most productive for the emotions you seek to cultivate."
Theo quirked an eyebrow. "And for that, you demolished my east wing?" He shook his head. "I was this close to getting a new client secured, and now the air has grown noisome because of this foolishness. I am going to see if I can rectify the situation, while you two clean up this mess."
Aurele and Nox exchanged uneasy glances before Aurele spoke up. "Well… Master Theo, would you answer the question for us? Which method is best for cultivating the emotions you're looking for?"
Theo folded his arms. "You are seriously still concerned with this, while I've just given you a grueling construction task as a punishment?"
"In our defense, sir, it would cultivate satisfaction, which is one of your most favored emotional vintages." Nox added.
Theo's smile almost wavered, and his eye twitched. "Tell you what, gents." He turned to the giraffe. "Chance, old sport, a moment?"
"What's up, Mr. T?" The giraffe asked, lumbering forward.
"Aurele and Nox are having a little debate about the merits of indulging my clients or empowering them— I'd like you to arbitrate."
Theo could tell by Chance's blank stare he hadn't understood a thing; he sighed. "Aurele and Nox are arguing about if it's better for our clients to be made fat or made muscular. I'd like you to pick for me."
The giraffe blinked. "Well, dudes, I think that's pretty easy for me…" He flexed his arm, making his bloated bicep bounce.
"Ah, ah, ah, hold on, hold on—" Aurele stepped forward. "My dear Chance, do you not also have a love for fast food, sweets, and generally anything unhealthy from here to the Winter Court? So much so that you would be terribly overweight if you didn't work out so diligently, and didn't benefit from Master Theo's particular brand of magic?"
"Hah, yeah, I'm a total fatty when you put a pizza or a steak burrito in front of me…" Chance chuckled. "So… wow, I really don't know. Hm…"
The giraffe scratched his chin, frowning so intensely all three cheshires were slightly concerned for him. "Well!" Theo nodded, satisfied. "That should keep you boys quietly busy for a good while. Tatty-bye." His long striped tail swished, and the green-furred feline disappeared.
