This very short piano solo I've done here is the opening music to the British quiz show "Only Connect," one of the hardest there is today, and one of my favorites from the BBC. In the series, teams compete in a tournament of finding connections between seemingly unrelated clues. The title is taken from a passage in E. M. Forster's 1910 novel Howards End: "Only connect the prose and the passion, and both will be exalted."

That's not how the game works, actually. One team plays at a time; if they guess the connection after one clue, they get 5 points. 3 points after the second clue, 2 points after the third, and just 1 point for the last clue. If they team doesn't guess it, the other team can guess it for a bonus point.
