The armor design for Dr. Riley was to meet the needs of the Vanguard Program, with some modifications to aid the Dr. In his recovery. Pumps were built into the suit to pump in the blood agent keeping him alive. Other modifications included a replacement leg and a wrist com to tap into local databases at the main Alamo Tech Center on Erbos. Some risks were made in order to make the suit as mobile as possible, removal of left leg armoring was made in place for a left leg motorized brace. Arm covering was hesitant due to its clunky nature and was deemed wasteful to mobility. The Vanguard Armor was one of its kind and built to withstand the harshest of conditions.
