Description:
Elsa Sconturner was yet another citizen who hailed from the lone town in south of Arizona, where cacti was often a majority of snacks, but she barely lived there, because she was well known across Arizona as a member of one of several Arizona-based paramedic squads deployed to rescue the injured from earthquakes and heat waves, so quite often was she busy going around the said US State.
However, she was also a girlfriend of Miguel Picoblancos who stayed longer than her and maintained their love between them through cellphone/telephone calls, despite their long distance due to her responding to disasters. For few months ever since Miguel joined the MALAKAS Project, she became worried as he was supposed to call her every week, but due to certain policies in the mountain base preventing him from directly calling her, he had no choice but to send her mail, though he knew only her home address: just literally back in their humble cactus-eating town. Fortunately, Elsa was able to receive one of his mail, when she attended to a wounded mailman affected by a strong earthquake in Phoenix. Realizing where Miguel exactly was, she sent him another mail, just to let him know she received it and she was alright, in which he received it few days later.
Afterwards, Elsa was given a leave for a year, as a reward for her few years of quick attendance to a hundred injured citizens, and after that she would be required to return to service and receive another task of training new and upcoming paramedics. She returned home and noticed a good-sized pile of Miguel's mail, realizing that mail was the only acceptable form of communication he could use at a time. Still, she spent a whole day reading each envelope, in which most of them were genuine assurances and love messages, but several gave away the info of what the MALAKAS Project was, especially its background, functions, instructorship and rewards for every recruit, as well as Miguel's experience with every recruit he knew, either platonic or explicit. This had entirely piqued her interest in the project, but the said lone town she resided had no nearby military outpost she could look for. Thankfully, one of her fellow citizens, this time a now bodybuilder-like reptile who got recently discharged following the end of his instructorship, was happy to help her set and sign up for the project.
One week later, after arriving in Mt. Tingganda Military Base, Elsa was surprised to see her boyfriend that big and muscular, who had been taking a break from his instructor duty at a time. While she was clearly lovesick for Miguel, she had joined the MALAKAS Project for another reason: to become a stronger paramedic, given how recently things became more difficult for her fellow paramedics to save disaster-affected civilians. Given her background, she was to serve in medical services within the mountain base everyday, but she was allowed to train under Miguel once past 6pm, the end of her daily schedule.
Not only did she become stronger and more alert, as she expectedly progressed, she also became a quick fighter albeit below Miguel's level. While she was satisifed with what she had become, she still have less than a dozen months before she could go back to paramedic duty. With that said, being a paramedic herself, she was not allowed to enter the instructorship, but she was allowed to prolong her stay on a condition that she would still attend her daily schedule, as stated in one policy for non-scientist workers residing in the mountain base. This allowed her to spend more time with Miguel, despite the latter having less months than her, not that she would mind at all.
