Mantis Shrimp I submitted to a competition held on Brickset a few years ago. It was designed to resemble a peacock mantis shrimp my family had as a pet, and came with a fire goby to show scale and establish an underwater theme.
The competition was to design a model under 50 pieces. I had a lot of fun working out the shapes and also using parts that existed in real colors. It was a challenge making a color scheme that both looked good and was accurate to the real thing, but I think I did a good job.
I didn't get any distinction at all in the build competition, something that I'm still bitter about
