Thought I'd get around to Making an official reference sheet for this species, so here we are, I'm gonna go over some basic details as well as some additional information that will be backed up by some homemade lore. Let's see how this goes.
Species name: Pyreheart Wolf
Age of maturity: 16
Life Span: 76 years
Height Average: Male 5'10", Female 5'10"
Biology: Pyreheart wolves are similar to most other wolves in their anatomy; great sense of hearing and smell, exceptional endurance, and good with runners. Where they start to deviate is in their body heat. These wolves have a near supernatural ability to raise their body temperature, this can result in ranges from self-immolation to becoming hot enough to melt tungsten. This is a result of fascinating genetic evolution based in their cardiovascular system. Their blood being a far more effective conductor of heat, and their veins and heart able to build of more friction as blood flows through them. The faster the heart beats, the more blood is both pumping and flowing their system, the more friction builds up as a result. The end result of all this is intense heat through their biology. This is why pyreheart wolves exercise regularly to keep this ability at it's prime. They are also careful not to get cuts or punctures; despite having a lot of blood for their size, their bodies end up bleeding a lot just from the smallest cuts.
Culture: While culture varies from location to location, a common trend among the race is to sell parts of themselves within reason. Pyreheart wolves are both able to increase their body heat to immense levels, but also are able to not be affected by such heat. Because of this, it's common for these wolves to either grow their hair out as long as possible before cutting it, or donating their hide upon passing away. With either or, leather equipment and some clothes can be made from the hide and hair. These clothes are commonly sought out by other wolves because, then, they have clothes that won't burn off their body when they need to heat up. Even people outside their species tend to look into these kind of clothing for uses ranging from basic cooking to full on protection for the fire departments.
Mythos: Pyreheart Wolves, male and female, tend to look very similar. Males and Females grow in adult hood to be about the same height, deviating by only 2 inches at the most. Females also rarely have a large chest. While being flat is embarrassing and rare among the species, D cup size is even rarer among the species, and Double D pyreheart wolves never exist.
The belief for this is that, back during primordial and tribal eras, a way to kill off enemy tribes were to kidnap and/or slay the woman of another tribe. With this in mind, it's believe pyrehearts evolved to look like this as a means so other tribes could not tell apart males from females, ergo, much harder to target specific tribe members and end them.
