A tribe would usually have a special day for the day of birth of the divine being they worship. What happens when that deity actively lives among them, then? As an ancient dragon, Kate insists that extraordinary gifts are unnecessary. "It is but another day of the year, of which I have lived plenty of times before. Though it is still a good excuse to have a loud and proud celebration, should you all need one, that is!". Her tribespeople are quite insistent though, often times making her question whether being humble is even necessary. A friend once told her that being such is a sign of a soul's purity, so perhaps showing that side of herself will pay off in other ways some day too.

18th of May, 2017 is when I created Kate, at a rough time of my life when I needed something to help me cope through a tragic loss of a friend. It made this character very special to me, and with her lore nowadays there are few connections to that point of my life. I've moved on long ago of course, but I like acknowledging that part of my youth through something meaningful to me. Speaking of lore, I don't know how much I'll actually be able to write the whole origin story that "The Eclipse" is supposed to be. I really want to make it real for me, but it's very ambitious and not very realistic at this moment, so I might have to tell the lore through little scraps like this, should anyone be willing to read. Whether anyone does or not, I'll keep it going at a slow and steady pace. And also, a shaded picture, no way! I actually tried this time, with a different technique with much more understanding of what I'm doing, so hopefully more shaded pictures in the future!
