So, I'd like to show two character I haven't introduced yet: Sasha and Amber, two lovers that went on quite a journey.

Amber Nichols is a jaguar, born in a poor neighbourhood in Queens. She had always a dream to become a singer, and for years she worked hard to make her dreams come true, despite the hardship she was facing. It was a stroke of luck that she was discovered by a talent scout who had seen her perform. She ended up as a background singer of the soul group "The Marqed", but got herself promoted to one of the lead singers years later after impressing the rest of the group when subsituting for one of the other leads when they were sick, and since then, she is one of the lead singers of the band.

She toured around the world with this group, but on one fateful day in 2038, her life would be turned upside down with the rest of the world. She was performing in Amsterdam when the Wellspring War reached its peak and sent a huge magic surge through all the Wellsprings. Paris vanished from the surface of the Earth (later to be found back on Mars, surprisingly safe and sound), causing massive earthquakes in the entire region. The mages casted a shield around Amsterdam to save it from the Earthquake, but the dikes in the surrounding lands had failed, and the whole area flooded. The mages would fear that if they would release the shield (which they couldn't keep up forever, the city would drown, so they came with a desperate solution: they established a mer-transformation field, to make sure that everyone inside would survive the city being flooded. They didn't however, anticipate that this transformation would be permanent for everyone who was inside of the field when they established it. From this day, Amber became a mer-jaguar, and getting back home was quite a challenge. Nonetheless, The Marqued became a popular band below the surface of the water as well, touring to many underwater cities all across the world.

Sasha is an Eduani, an alien from another planet. They look like minks, but their head is place on a long neck coming from the crotch. Having most of their culture erased, they obsess about other species cultures to make up for that loss. Sasha was interested in Terran culture, and especially in the concept of masculinity, which for a single-gendered species like the Eduani is a completely foreign concept. Sasha had a strong desire to go to Earth and live out his dream to become a man, but Earth in the early 2020s wasn't a part of the Galactic community yet. He had to go their incognito. Fortunately, his contacts got him to Atlantis, where he was taught some modular magic to reattach his neck between his shoulders instead, making him not stand out among Terrans. He adopted the last name Van Ness and he also got gender-affirming top surgery to finally became the man he always dreamt of, the first Eduani man ever. Even better fortune landed him in one of his other passions: acting. He broke through as a regular reoccuring character on Star Trek, the only place where he could reveal his true Eduani appearance under the guise that this was merely a modular magic trick for the performance (which later revealed to be a subtle alien influence from the director's side to prepare Terrans for the arrival of aliens later). Sasha enjoyed a long film and TV career, even though he wasn't a top-listed actor in any capacity.

He met Amber, being invited as a VIP to one of her concerts with backstage access, and they fell in love over their shared love for music. When the relationship got serious, Sasha revealed his alien nature to her, saying that when she was ready to know, he couldn't keep this secret from her. The two of them got married and had three kids together: Jody, LeVarr and Nyota, all with their own unique mixture of jaguar and Eduani traits.
