The skull is a seal's skull, along with its teeth. The brain and eyes, nose, as well as other sensory organs are glued to the inside of the skull, which happens while it is a baby and develops its own bony growth that forms into an animal skull.

Its tail is comprised of devoured spirits. One of the special organs held behind the skull allows it to eat souls, ghosts, and any sort of spiritual energy. The more it eats, the larger and more lavish its tail grows. This can display experience and maturity.

Markings usually come in either point markings (like on a cat) or any sort of spotty design. Colors are usually natural, but the colors of the eyes and tail vary quite a lot.

They find their job to maintain order and scare and prevent people who refuse to leave to the afterlife, and strain to stay on earth with their family and friends. Ghosts who have trouble moving on and haunt houses are removed by them, sucked in and used for their tails. They cannot be seen by mankind, but they sometimes trigger that sixth sense that some humans believe they have. It is really these creatures moving about and making their moves.
