An Entertaining Pair of Characters
My favorite two pen-and-paper RPG player-characters, Lucía (left) and Irlkaxin (right). Note that these aren't a team, they are independent characters. However, they are from the same setting/universe.
These are portraits I made to be used as e.g. 2D-figurines in Tabletop Simulator. (Also Irlkaxin's Goetian sigil in the top right.)
A pack of birbs has by now joined the roster of characters.
Lucía Fernandez:
Lucía was born in 1961 in Buenos Aires and was sent to a military boarding school, later specializing in explosives and other ordnance. She went on to serve in the Argentinian army as a bomb disposal expert and was deployed in the 1982 Falklands War where she was disfigured by a stray shell. She was quietly discharged from the military at the war's end while still recovering from her injuries. Has trust issues and struggled to ask for help since then. Began excessive substance abuse after being released from hospital.
Takes pretty much every substance she can either ingest or inhale, even substances that normally aren't drugs. However, is disgusted by substances that are injected or similar. By now, she is practically immune to ingested or inhaled poison, even magical ones. On the other hand, this also greatly reduces the effect of beneficial substances and even magic potions. Her blood is toxic in comparison to normal human blood.
Is generally always drunk, high, or both and armed with explosives or, occasionally, chemical weapons.
She took up the adventuring lifestyle in the early 2010s in order to "maybe feel something again."
Irlkaxin:
Irlkaxin is a skilled illusionist, a most cunning con man, and lower demon nobility, a marquis, who owns a bit of land near the outer borders of Hell. There he acts as a landlord and operates a casino.
His illusion magic and indomitable confidence made him a prolific card sharp (which earned him a ban in almost every casino he ever went to) and an excellent spy through social engineering. To entertain himself he uses his skills to offer his services to mortals outside of Hell in exchange for contractually bound favors to cash in when required.
His physical toolkit consists of a deck of playing cards that act as his "wand" and a pair of magic gloves to fake forensic evidence. If he gets engaged in combat, Irlkaxin exclusively relies on deception.
Is overly ecstatic and adores dad jokes.
