Nah, he has eyelids. I know geckos shouldn’t, but they also shouldn’t have opposable thumbs, inward-bending fingers, etc., so it’s probably OK. :3

(Also, incidentally, actual geckos have an extra transparent membrane over their eye, so they’re not licking their eyeballs directly. Which makes it a bit less unpleasant, at least. And stops them getting bits of food in their eye. :p)
