I've noticed a little something in the last couple of years. The trend of the more popular games being 1st person games. Meaning that little guys like the Camera Koopa here go without a job. He can't even afford his cloud anymore because the player's HUD serves as a camera in those high budget 1st person games.

I might lay the blame at imitators of Call of Duty or Halo who HAD to copy their formulas and make FPS the gaming standard for five plus years. I could blame folks like Team Ninja who sometimes unjustly made this little guy the enemy with their crappy programming and planning that led to so much frustration(bad camera is not a piece of the difficulty level of a game, it's just bad game design). I might lay blame at the feet of all of us who didn't notice that the camera's job and it's point of view being an aesthetic point of the game and thus not talked about was because he was doing it right and often well(ie:Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption, Lords of Shadow).

Well, here's hoping he gets a job in the next hit game rather than some lifeless thing in a a faceless space marine's helmet.
