From this moment, as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on
- From This Moment by Shania Twain
I wanted to post this on Mother's Day, but unfortunately didn't get it done in time. Here we have Lesedi with her two newborn cubs, Ziraili (later renamed 'Zira' by her father) and Zamoyoni. After losing her birth pride in a tragic disaster, Lesedi is overjoyed when she joins up with Ajamu's pride and is able to start a new family. Unfortunately, things wouldn't stay like this for long, and you can read about what happens to these characters in my TLK Prequel Synopsis.
Drawing baby Zira was a bit of a challenge, as her design is purposely hard-edged and sinister, but I'm pretty happy with what I finally ended up with. The background is referenced from a screencap of Rafiki's tree, but I made myself draw it instead of just using the art from the movie. Using the eyedropper tool to get the colors right was a big help.
