Longtime watchers might remember this guy. I actually first conceptualized Arik in 2014, and you can see some of the early concepts here. He's probably one of - if not my most - frequently drawn character, but those drawings don't make it here because they're mostly just casual doodles and concepts. I finally decided to sit down and get his design finalized, which included painting a cat figure with his markings to use as a reference for the different angles. I'll post a photo of that later.

Arik is a character who holds a very special place in my heart, and I'll have to go into his story at a later time. He's gone through some development over the years from a mostly grumpy, bitter, and angry character, to a character who is short-tempered and sarcastic, but ultimately kind and loving when it counts. Much of that reflects what I've gone through in my own life, and where I was during certain stages of his character development.

Negative Traits: Stubborn, hot-tempered, brash, sarcastic, and impulsive.

Other Notes

-Arik lives in what is basically just a human society, but with animal characters. The look is probably closest to a Victorian city with a few medieval elements thrown in.

-In a world where the poor don't really have a place and are being slowly crushed into the ground by a greedy monarch, Arik is forced to make due the best he can. He makes his living mostly as a pickpocket and petty thief. He steals not only to survive, but to provide for some of the poor families that he has become close to.
Arik is highly athletic and agile, with a special talent for jumping and climbing.
